Today is the last day of school for Breanna and Madison. It’s awards day and from what I’ve been hearing I’m sure they’ll both be recognized in more than one category. Breanna was exempt from all of her final exams as was Shelby. They all worked so hard this year. Shelby received 5 highest average awards last week! I’m so proud of her! Yesterday was Field Day for the elementary and middle school. They had so much fun but it was so hot! I think the most fun thing was the water balloon toss!
The school rented the big fun jumpers and slides for them and they played on those for a long time and had so much fun! I am so glad to see summer vacation is finally here. I’m sure I will spend a lot of my time running to appointments and such but maybe it will be a little more relaxed now that the big girls can help out more with the little ones.
For the last three weeks it has been hectic and busy, busy, busy. I got new glasses, didn’t like them and ended up taking them back. Now I’m waiting for my new frames to come in. I finally got rid of the lice problem we had, PTL! That was a nightmare! I am so thankful to be rid of those pests. I hope and pray we don’t have to deal with that ever again. It’s just another reason that I’m glad school is out!
Last week, we had a bad weather day. There were tornado warnings all around us. The weather service had issued a warning for an area and my dh was in the path. Quite scary! I called him and let him know that a warning had been issued and that he and the fellows he was working with needed to get some place safe. I waited and watched the t.v. for updates. A few minutes later, the weather man mentioned my dh’s exact location and said to seek shelter immediately that there was a tornado on the ground. Once I knew the danger had passed for his area, I tried to get through on his cell phone. All the networks were busy so I couldn’t. I kept waiting and praying that he was alright. He finally called me and said that they were okay but they were really shaken up and that there was some minor damage. He works in public works on a military base and the building he is in has an open bay area. He was sitting there texting me and all of a sudden people start yelling, “RUN!, RUN!” Jamie said he looked up and could see the tornado coming at them. They all ran to the opposite side of the building that is closed in and tried to get a door to a little room open. It wouldn’t open so they busted it down and managed to get in there. They were fortunate and only had minor damage and no injuries. It was a small one and only the tail touched down in their area but other parts of the base had a building with heavy damage and some damaged cars. Jamie said that he never wanted to see that again and that he hadn’t been that scared since Katrina! I’m so glad that the Lord protected him and that no one was hurt.
Have a blessed day!

Today is Madison’s Birthday, she is ten years old!! I can hardly believe she is that old already. It seems such a short time ago when she was nestled in my arms wrapped in a little teeny blanket all snuggly and warm. Such a quiet and content little being. Now, a decade later, she is so sweet and tender hearted. She loves to have fun & enjoys all the frills of being a girl. She loves to play school, go to school, and is an aspiring teacher. She says she’ll be in school all of her life!
I believe her! Her Daddy sent word to all her teachers NOT to send home their unwanted worksheets and workbooks, lol. She would spend all of her summer “playing” school if she could.
Breanna will be 12 on the 29th, I can hardly believe she is that old either! She wanted to make her debut early so Mom was on bedrest fo six weeks. She was my tiniest baby of all but she is the most boisterous and fun loving of the bunch. She is ALL girl and loves to make you laugh. She loves cook and if you can imagine this, she also loves to clean! She enjoys chatting with her friends and fixing up her hair.
We celebrated this past Sunday with family and friends. Actually, the girls had a joint party. It was really nice and they had lots of fun. We served bbq meatballs, a veggie tray, a fruit tray, a cookie cake for each girl, party punch (that’s the name of the recipe), and nachos. Madison received over $70 and Breanna received over $50. They were so excited, now they are trying to decide what they’d like to buy with their birthday money. Our neighbor gave them each a really cute vintage beaded coin purse with a chain. They are so pretty! I love that kind of stuff.
For their gift from us, we are getting them Dance Praise 2. They have been asking for a while! I’d forgotten about it and Shelby reminded me but not in time for it to get here for their birthday.
It has been really hectic this last two weeks but I will have to update in a later post.
